A proud alumnus of the Victoria Institution, Jason was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2008. Jason chambered under the tutelage of Mr. Wong Chong Wah, an esteemed member of the Malaysian Bar and subsequently practiced in one of the largest firms in Malaysia until 2015. During this time, he was primarily engaged in trade remedies and civil litigation work.

Jason regularly advises and represents foreign and local manufacturers, exporters, importers and trade associations in trade remedy proceedings, including anti-dumping, safeguards and countervailing investigations in Malaysia and other jurisdictions. His practice also includes advising on global trade compliance and representing parties in judicial review proceedings relating to trade remedy investigations before the Malaysian High Court and Court of Appeal.

Jason is a member of the Strategic Alliance on WTO and Trade Remedies Law and Practice (SAWTR), an international network of practitioners specialising in WTO law, trade remedy investigations and global trade policy.

Jason has been consistently listed in the Lexology Index (formerly Who’s Who Legal) for Trade & Customs since 2012 and recently received recognition as a Global Elite Thought Leader, reflecting his standing among the world’s leading practitioners in the field.

Jason is also recognised by Chambers Asia-Pacific for his expertise in competition and antitrust law, where he advises on complex matters including price-fixing and bid-rigging investigations and regulatory compliance issues.

Jason is fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia and has appeared as counsel or co-counsel before all levels of courts in Malaysia in a wide variety of legal disputes.
